About Ribon

Ribon was created in 2016 by three university students with one goal: to build a free donation experience so that anyone in the world can feel the pleasure of helping someone else.

Since then, more than 500,000 people have made donations through Ribon, moving enough resources to help around 300,000 lives. By generating mass engagement, the Ribon giving experience is used by more than 50 companies as a reward tool for its users, and was awarded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as one of the 10 most innovative solutions in the world in the philanthropy market.

Ribon’s mission

Ribon intends to be a key agent in the eradication of extreme poverty by 2030, promoting 3 fundamental impacts:

  1. Raise more resources to help those in need today, alleviating as much of the suffering caused by extreme poverty and environmental degradation. This is the immediate impact of what we do, which takes the form of food, medicine, water, education, reforestation, environmental protection, and any other types of services or resources made possible by the work of NGOs that receive tickets donated by our users.
  2. Engaging as many people as possible in social causes. We do this through our free donation experience, which transforms people into recurring donors, who over time become increasingly socio-politically active agents. When replicated on a large scale, this impact has the potential to create a collective social conscience at a global level, which for us is a fundamental step towards definitively solving problems as complex as extreme poverty.
  3. Show the world a new organizational model, called the Teal Organization, which prioritizes the happiness of employees and stakeholders, making it a much more conducive environment for innovation. Create a blockchain economy based on the Ribon Token, rewarding in a fair and transparent way all those responsible for the good functioning of our product. Prove with numbers that this model generates more results than current models. And disseminate this knowledge so that it becomes a replicable public good in other contexts.
